THE widow of Beatle George Harrison has given her backing to a Henley music festival where he will be honoured.
Music on the Meadows will take place tomorrow (Saturday) to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen?s coronation.
The free festival has been organised by and for the youth of Henley.
Soul singer Jamie Bruce, who has performed on BBC reality TV show The Voice, will be among more than 20 acts performing in Mill Meadows from 2pm to 10pm.
Each performer will play a Beatles song in their own style in tribute to Harrison.
His widow Olivia told the Henley Standard: ?There is nothing better than music and I couldn?t be more pleased that George?s music is being played.
?It?s a wonderful platform for Henley?s youth to showcase their passion and talent for music and the creative arts.?
Other attractions will include refreshments, face-painting and performances by the Acorn Music Theatre Company.
A bar will be run by Lawrence Wilson from Magoos, who has been hosting the battle of the bands competition at his Hart Street bar.
The final of the competition will take place at the festival and the winner will be signed up by Eight Ray Music, a Henley music agency.
Pots of paint will be sold to families to decorate a canvas which has been pledged by the Henley Decorative and Fine Arts Society.
In January, Mrs Harrison wrote to the Henley Standard to say she would prefer a community project rather than a statue as a memorial to her husband.
