Fibre upgrade

09:30AM, Monday 18 August 2025

A ROAD in Checkendon will be closed for seven weeks from Monday.

Uxmore Road will be closed 24 hours a day so Gigaclear can complete fibre cabling work. The work is anticipated to be completed by October 10.

Traffic signals will be in place and there are exemptions for emergency services, residents, buses, cyclists and pedestrians.

A diversion will be in place using a combination of Lovegrove’s Lane, Kit Lane, Exlade Street, Hookend Lane, Busgrove Lane and Emmens Lane.
