AT the Oxfordshire Rifle Association annual dinner and prize-giving in November, Henley Trinity Hall Rifle Club collected a respectable number of awards.
Ian King, club coach and county smallbore captain, represented the club and received from the chief guest, James Macnamara DL, vice lord lieutenant, the awards for smallbore shooting as follows:
Winter League 2024/25: Division 2 — Challenge Cup and two medals (J Wetten, I King); Division 3 — League Competition Cup and two medals (C Gibbs, D Mayer); Class B Medal (J Wetten); Class C Medal (D Mayer).
Summer League 2025: Division 2 — medal (D Meyer); Division pairs — two medals (J Crawley-Page, J Scott-Wood).
Summer Meeting 2025: Pressed Steel Cup and three medals (I King, J Wetten, H Taylor) and Veteran’s Championship Trophy and medal (I King).
Shooting in the 2025/26 Berkshire and Oxfordshire Winter Leagues is now under way and several members are representing their counties (Oxfordshire or Berkshire) in the national Inter County Leagues.
The club promotes smallbore shooting in a variety of disciplines: prone, benchrest and lightweight sports rifle. We have a visually impaired shooter competing in VI leagues and hope to expand this activity.
We welcome experienced and novice shooters to partake in this demanding and rewarding sport.
