SIXTEEN bags of rubbish were collected by volunteers in Caversham.

Eleven members of Pangbourne Rotary Club also collected several beer bottles from the banks of the River Thames on June 22.

They covered two miles either side of Caversham Bridge.

Organiser Les Jones said the most unexpected find was a pair of men’s underpants.
