A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a fight with weapons broke out in Langley in the afternoon on Wednesday.
A video of the fight has been circulating on social media – and police have told people to stop sharing it, as identifying the teenager would be a criminal offence.
At around 3.50pm on March 11, police went to Station Road after being informed that there were two males fighting with weapons there.
When police got to the scene, the offenders had run off.
A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of affray (a violent public fight or threatening behaviour) and possession of an offensive weapon.
He remains in custody and police enquiries are ongoing. The force says is it not aware of anyone being injured during the fight.
Detective Superintendent Holly Stockwell said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this incident, which will of course cause some concern in the community.
“This incident is being thoroughly investigated and we have made one arrest in connection with this incident.
“We are aware of a video of the incident on social media. We would ask members of the public not to share the incident.
“This is an active criminal investigation where a youth has been arrested.
“As such, identifying them in any way would constitute a criminal offence and individuals could face prosecution.
“Members of the public may see an increased police presence as we continue to investigate this incident. Anyone with any concerns should raise them with one of our officers or call 101.
“We are asking anyone with information around this incident to call 101 quoting reference 43260120616, or you can report on our website.
“If you do not wish to speak to police, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
