THE 20th year of the South Oxfordshire primary school cross country races got under way at Greys Court last Saturday.
On a warm sunny morning with ground firm there were some fast and close races across all the age groups.
The next race in the series will take place at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge on October 7.
The results were as follows:
Year 1: Boys’ — 1 Joshua Mattingly, Shiplake; 2 Austin Atherton, The Heights, 3 Hugo Joules, Sacred Heart. Girls’ — 1 Bethan Palmer, Shiplake; 2 Harley Mabrouk, Whitchurch; 3 Sienna Lakin, Nettlebed.
Year 2: Boys’ — 1 Jack Siveyer, Whitchurch; 2 Max Smith, Sacred Heart; 3 Max Cottle, Sonning Common. Girls’ — 1 Phoebe Soles, Nettlebed; 2 Freya Hammond, Kidmore End; 3 Alice O’Brien, Trinity.
Year 3: Boys’ — 1 Joe Conway, Nettlebed; 2 Thomas Lamacraft, Shiplake; 3 Albert Henderson, Woodcote. Girls’ — 1 Grace Hollands, Manor Prep; 2 Phoebe Friend, Shiplake; 3 Margaret Campbell, Whitchurch.
Year 4: Boys’ — 1 Frank O’Brien, Trinity; 2 Joseph Palmer, Shiplake; 3 Thomas Mills, The Heights. Girls’ — 1 Ellie Smith, Sacred Heart; 2 Martha Sudbury, Woodcote; 3 Teddy Molnar, Rupert House.
Year 5: Boys’ — 1 Louie Bird, Sonning Common; 2 Michael Finlayson, Sacred Heart; 3 Mark Green, Sacred Heart. Girls’ — 1 Jemima Watson, Rupert House; 2 Eloise Woulters, Rupert House; 3 Sophia Louijten, St Mary’s.
