SACRED Heart School have been crowned this year’s South Oxfordshire Primary School winter series champions following the last round of races.
On a cold, frosty and misty morning last Saturday, 190 youngsters raced at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge. There were 12 races covering years 1 through to 6.
For years 3 to 6 there was not only an individual race but also a team race and their combined team totals went towards deciding the overall school champions.
Sacred Heart won the competition with 113 points with Rupert Hosue second on 101.5 and Shiplake third on 72.5.
The results of last Saturday’s races were as follows:
Year 1: boys’ — 1 Joshua Mattingly, Shiplake; 2 Albie Barnes, Nettlebed; 3 Hugo Joules, Sacred Heart; girls’ — 1 Bethan Palmer, Shiplake; 2 Sienna Lakin, Nettlebed; 3 Eloise Winters, Whitchurch.
Year 2: boys’ — 1 Max Smith, Sacred Heart; 2 Max Cottle, Sonning Common; 3 Henry Lutjens, Nettlebed; girls’ — 1 Pheobe Soles, Nettlebed; 2 Freya Lutjens, St Mary’#s; 3 Esme Taylor, Nettlebed.
Year 3: boys’ — 1 Joseph Conway, Nettlebed; 2 Thomas Lamacraft, Shiplake; 3 Max Backowski, Sacred Heart; girls’ — 1 Isabelle Bromely, Trinity; 2 Poppy Lindquist, Sacred Heart; 3 Emilia MacVarish, Kidmore End.
Year 4: boys’ — 1 William Nicholson, Woodcote; 2 Joseph Palmer, Shiplake; 3 Frank O’Brien, Trinity; girls’ — 1 Martha Sudbury, Woodcote; 2 Teddy Molnar, Rupert House; 3 Ellie Smith, Sacred Heart.
Year 5: boys’ — 1 Ambrose Paviour, Kidmore End; 2 Lucas Robinson, Moulsford; 3 Mark Green, Sacred Heart; girls’ — 1 Jemima Watson, Rupert House; 2 Eloise Wouters, Rupert House; 3 Harriet McLean, Trinity.
