STONOR reopens next Sunday with a number of new attractions.
Lord Camoys has collected contemporary ceramics for more than 22 years and for the first time ever, his eclectic collection of ceramics by leading Korean artists will be on display. Two new family portraits join the many covering the generations — Lord Camoys’ grandmother, Mildred Sherman, and Lady Ailsa Stonor, William Stonor’s wife, the next generation. Additional family brass rubbings of members of the Stonor family are now on show for the first time.
The rain may have caused havoc recently but the daffodils have enjoyed the milder winter so are blooming early this year. There are a great number of varieties including the pheasant eye narcissi. The deer are in excellent shape and the special white doe can be spotted from the house.
Stonor has been home to the Stonor family for 850 years and the history of the house inevitably contributes to the atmosphere — unpretentious but grand.
On Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday a special quiz will be available for young children.
