MAPLEDURHAM House and watermill near Reading are hosting a Second World War re-creation on Saturday and Sunday, April 19 and 20.
Set in the location of the film set of The Eagle has Landed, Mapledurham village will be transformed for the two days and visitors will be treated to a variety of static and live demonstrations with authentic costumes and vehicles, as well as a daily battle.
There will be jive demonstrations throughout the day with Forties’ style music and songs. GT Combat will be on hand for the first time to entertain the children.
Lola Andrews, event organiser, said: “This is the second time we have put this event on and we hope to build on it year on year.
“It is a fantastic opportunity to transform Mapledurham back to the Second World War period and we all look forward to this exciting event.”
