River clean after floods

VOLUNTEERS will carry out a river clean-up in Henley tomorrow (Saturday).

This has been jointly organised by the Warriors on Waste and the Henley Mermaids, who campaign for cleaner rivers and waterways.

To take part, meet at the slipway at the end of Friday Street at 11am. Participants should wear wellies and gloves and bring a bin bag.

Lynne Lambourne, from Peppard, who leads the Warriors on Waste, said: “As the water recedes, there is a need to clear the debris.”
