READING United U16s are preparing for a step up to Division 1 of the Reading and West Berks League following a successful campaign last season.
As U15s last season, Reading United remained unbeaten in the league all season to win Division 2, and only lost narrowly in the quarter-finals of the Berks and Bucks Cup, despite regularly having only 10 players each week.
The team celebrated their success with a mini-tournament and presentation day earlier this month where they collected their league winners medals, trophies and player of the season awards while Team France won the inaugural Biscuit Cup — a fun end of season six-a-side tournament.
The core of this team has been together since 2018 and came from the Vale of White Horse District team at U11 age group.
The team attend a range of local schools including The Oratory, Gillotts and Langtree.
For next season the team are still in need of a couple of new players. Anyone interested in playing for the club and taking part in training sessions over the summer should contact them on Instagram @ReadingUtd
