AFC Henley now charitable company

AFC Henley has become a charitable company, known as AFC Henley Limited. The change came into effect last month when it moved from an unincorporated association to a charitable company. This provides a more secure structure and framework, while the new charity status is expected to open the door to more sponsorship and donations.

The change brings an updated constitution, registration with HMRC, a new bank account and the formation of a seven-person board of trustees. The club, which has

550 members in 42 teams, now has a six-figure turnover in revenue.

Club members have use of the new £1m all-weather 3G pitch at Jubilee Park, built with the support of the Football Foundation and Henley Town Council. They also use it for training under lights on weekday evenings.

The club is always on the lookout for new volunteers. Anyone interested should contact chairman Steve Wright via email at steve.wright@afchenley.co.uk
