A FOOTBALL club based in Gallowstree Common wants to add an artificial pitch to its facilities.

Rotherfield United Football Club, which owns Bishopswood sports ground, has applied to South Oxfordshire District Council to replace an existing 3G grass pitch.

There are currently seven grass pitches on the site off Gallowstree Road but the club says an artificial pitch would increase usage of the facilities by partner football clubs and other sports clubs in the area.

The application includes a new pavilion, an access footpath, floodlights, a hardstanding area, storage container and perimeter fencing.

The proposed pavilion would include changing facilities for up to 40 people, toilets, a first aid room and a kitchen.

The district council will make its decision by September 9.
