BADGEMORE PARK hosted its annual open anniversary weekend with a record number of entrants enjoying perfect playing conditions.

The Saturday event was won by the team of Carol Searle, Ann Grosfort, John Searle and Roger Edwards, scoring 90 points from second placed Terry Killick, Calum Miller, Gordon Hannam and Warren Badger with 89 on countback from Kevin Grant, Arron Stevens, Darren White and Wayne Porter in third place.

The competition on Sunday was won by Annelise Hartley, Stuart Shurman, David O’Connor and Mike Hartley posting 84 points with Graham Beales, Richard Bailey, Byron Bartlett and Andrew Masters second on 83 and Martyn Walker, Jamie Toms, Chris Bowman and Alec Stanton third with 82.

In midweek the seniors suffered a 5-1 defeat, finding the unfamiliar track at Ellesborough Golf Club too difficult a challenge.

The midweek medal saw Melvyn Keen lead the way in Division 1 with a round of 82 net 66, followed by Steve Carder (82, 69) in second place and Stephen Clark (80, 70) third.



Division 2 was won by Tom Stocker with 41 points from second placed Ted Peycke (36) and Ian Schwartz (32) third.
