Oldershaw has edge

HENLEY Golf Club’s skipper Jeff Ellis held his Captain’s Day competition over Friday and Saturday last week which attracted 150 competitors.

The men’s competition was won by Tom Oldershaw with 43 points. Andy Pye finished second on 42 points and Edgar Aponte finished third on countback with 41 points.

The 19 and above handicap competition was won by Ron Jacobs on countback with a score of 36 points.

The five-day competition was won by Roger Hudson with 39 points. The ladies’ prize was won by Karen Pollard with 36 points.

On Monday Peter Cawthra won the seniors section Summer Cup with a score of 43 points. Simon Hearn was second on 42 points and Nevil Coleman third with 40.
