THE owner of the Four Horseshoes in Checkendon has applied for retrospective planning permission for construction hoarding.

Caversham-based property developer Big Tots was granted planning permission to turn the pub into a house and build a one-and-a-half-storey house next to it, along with a carport, in August.

The company has now submitted a retrospective application to retain a fence around the site for the duration of the development of the approved application.

Meanwhile, a retirement village in Sonning Common has applied for an alcohol licence.

Widmore Park in Blounts Court Road has applied to South Oxfordshire District Council for a licence to sell alcohol on the premises between 11am and 11pm daily.
