THE cast of this year’s pantomime at the Kenton Theatre have been causing mischief around Henley town centre.
Heads were turned on Friday last week when the cast of Peter Pan went out and about, roving the streets in full costume.
Ahead of the show’s opening tomorrow (Saturday), the performers visited a number of businesses around the town, including THP solicitors, Asquiths teddy bear shop, Lawson’s jewellers, the Bull, the Bell Bookshop and Blandy and Blandy solicitors.
The cast also jumped behind the counter at Warings bakery in Duke Street and snuck in behind the bar at Bijans Kitchen in Market Place before visiting the newly opened Flyte bar in the former Green Room, behind the town hall. The production, which is being produced by Immersion Theatre, is titled The Further Adventures Of Peter Pan (and the revenge of Captain Hook!) and will run until December 30.
Kerry Hood, marketing manager at the Kenton, described the walkabout as a “wonderful way to kick off the festive season”.
She said: “Our cast visited the many local businesses whose support helps keep the Kenton thriving.
“For many of our cast, it was their first time in Henley and what a glorious introduction to the town it was. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was buzzing, the community was welcoming, and everyone had so much fun meeting families and four-legged friends ahead of the lights switch-on that night.
“We can’t wait to bring that same energy and excitement to the stage this Christmas.”
