WHILE walking in Harpsden woods the other morning with Elvis, our enthusiastic cocker spaniel, I noticed a large swathe of pure silver birch trees.
I was curious as to how they arrived there, as Harpsden woods is notably beech woods and exceptionally beautiful this year, even more so than usual.
This small plantation of silver stems triggered a desire to paint a scene exaggerating its beauty.
I thought your readers might enjoy this contemporary artist’s view of this cluster of white seams just waiting to be discovered. — Yours faithfully,
