A MODERN power blues trio play a one-night gig at Reading’s South Street on Saturday night.

Absolution released their first album Issues last year and are currently touring the UK, including an appearance at the Great British Rock And Blues Festival.

The trio are made up of Joe Fawcett on lead guitar and vocals, Ben Gardner on bass and Doug Lang on drums and percussion. Their music has been likened to ZZ Top, Free, and even the mighty Led Zeppelin.

As well as writing their own material they also play their own interpretations of music from some of the classic blues musicians, including Elmore James and Muddy Waters.

The gig is at South Street tomorrow (Saturday, March 23). For tickets call 0118 960 6060, visit www.readingarts.co.uk or take a punt on buying a ticket at the door.
