HENLEY’s top jazzman, world-famous saxophonist Art Themen, makes a short trip to play at Marlow Jazz Club on Tuesday, July 16.
The evening will be a rare encounter between Art and the award-winning Alan Barnes, and with backing from the Ken McCarthy Trio.
Art has often hit the headlines as being a leading bone surgeon by day and a jazz musician with a truly original style by night, but now he is semi-retired from the medical profession and devoting more of his time to music.
Art will play tenor and soprano saxes, with Alan on alto and baritone. The gig at Marlow’s Royal British Legion Hall (next to the railway station) is on Tuesday, July 16 at 8.30pm. Admission at the door is £8.
Land between Green View, Holyport Street, and Glenside, Holyport Road This week’s public notices include plans for a self-build home on a plot of land in the heart of Holyport. The site is the subject of three failed bids for housing already.
