THREE children’s charities will benefit from the 11th season of Fingest Great Barn Opera this month.
Facing on to the central courtyard at Manor Farm in Fingest, the Great Barn is the venue for two productions by opera company Diva Opera.
The first, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, is being staged tomorrow (Saturday) at 6pm.
This is followed on Sunday, September 11, by Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte — tickets for which have now more or less sold out.
With the focus on the remaining tickets for Don Pasquale, organiser Sylvia Crowther said: “This is an opportunity to experience a wonderful performance by established professional singers who sing at the major opera houses, and also highly talented young singers.
“The operas are performed in traditional costume and sung in Italian, with surtitles for the benefit of the audience.
“There is an extended interval for picnics and we provide under-cover picnic tables for your party in a marquee on the courtyard and in the little barn. Cars are parked in the paddock behind the barn. This year we will be supporting three charities — Child Bereavement UK, the SMA Trust, which funds research into spinal muscular atrophy, and Best Beginnings, which offers support and guidance for families and aims to give every baby in the UK the best start in life.”
Tickets for both operas are priced £75. To book, visit www.fingestgreatbarnopera.co.uk, email fingestopera@Â btconnect.com or call Sylvia Crowther on (01491) 638474.
