Hawks secure point despite Margaritas defeat

HENLEY HAWKS 2nds went down to a 30-25 Maidenhead and District League Division 1 defeat against SINGH SABHA HAWKS.

The opening half saw Singh Sabha take an early lead, capitalising on turnovers and maintaining strong shooting accuracy.

Henley showed flashes of good play through sharp mid-court transitions and impressive defensive efforts but went into half-time trailing.

After a quick court switch due to slippery conditions, Henley began to find their rhythm, linking well through the court and applying pressure that forced key turnovers.

Strong rebounding and accurate conversions helped narrow the deficit, with momentum shifting Henley’s way.

Despite their second-half surge and some good passages of play, the comeback came too late as Henley lost out by five goals.

In Division 2, HENLEY HAWKS 3rds went down to a defeat against MARGARITAS.

The opening quarter saw both sides evenly matched, moving the ball fluidly and trading goals to end level at the first break. Margaritas then found their rhythm in the second quarter, producing a strong shooting display to pull six goals clear by half-time.

Hawks continued to contest every ball, with solid defensive work and quick centre-court movement keeping them in the game. In the second half, Margaritas maintained their intensity and extended their advantage, but Hawks stayed composed, contesting hard and earning a point for their efforts.
