A SCHOOL in Caversham used artificial intelligence to create a Christmas song.

Queen Anne’s School for girls in Reading Road took part in the Interactive Schools challenge to write a festive number using Chat GPT, which uses phrases to create a body of text.

The lyrics include: “Empowering our girls, with no-limits vow. Coco the springer doodle, our companion takes a bow.”

“It was a bit of fun,” said Bethan Clothier, marketing and communications officer at the independent school says: “I just put some key words into the generator and a song appeared. I did wonder what it would sound like with music but it worked.

“I knew that our boarding house dogs had to have a mention as they are well known in the school. Coco and Crumpet are the dogs for Mitchell House and owned by Heidi and Gary Blunt.”
