ABOUT 500 people are expected to take part in the Wargrave 10km on Sunday.

Organisers say about 400 people have already signed up for the annual race around the village and more are expected on the day.

Competitors will set off from the recreation ground at 10am and run through Cockpole Green and Crazies Hill before finishing back at the field off Recreation Road.

This year’s race will feature a new memorial trophy for members of Wargrave Runners, who organise the event.

The Des Hassell Trophy is named after a former club member who died from cancer last year and will be awarded to the highest-placed club member.
