THE proposed new one-way traffic system for Henley will be put into effect for a trial period of two months if the town council’s Plans, Environment and Highways Committee has its way. But members of the committee held differing views about what the recommendations to the full council should be. All the signs are that the council will be equally divided when it has to decide on what observations to put forward to Oxfordshire County Council.
Vandals struck at Henley bowling green over the weekend, gouging out clods of turf on the playing surface. The damage was discovered on Sunday and council workmen led by foreman Mr Bill Grace set to work on the “jigsaw puzzle” of replacing the turf.
