Big Lunch

MORE than £400 was raised for a community village fund at the annual Big Lunch in Tokers Green on Sunday.

The event had more than 120 guests, who each brought a dish of food to share at the Recreation Ground, off Rokeby Drive.

The Boot Boys, a band formed of players from Rotherfield United Walking Football Club, entertained guests with music performances.

A book stall and a plant stall sold donated items to raise money for the fund, which helps pay for maintenance of the orchard, consumables for the defibrillator and a Christmas tree and decorations for the village.

Families also sold homemade honey and lemonade.

Guests played “gentle” games including quizzes and making mandalas.
