Points failure in Slough disrupts all GWR trains from Maidenhead

Archive GWR train image.

Engineering works are set to cause disruption on the Great Western Railway line between London Paddington and Reading this week.

Work is taking place between Maidenhead and Reading, closing some lines early on Tuesday to Friday mornings.

Beginning yesterday (December 16), disruption will continue until Friday (December 19).

As a result, the following trains will not call at Burnham or Taplow:

  • The 00:01 London Paddington to Reading service
  • The 00:19 Reading to London Paddington service
  • The 00:49 London Paddington to Reading service

Replacement buses will run between Slough and Burnham / Taplow, connecting with train services.

Check before you travel:

You can plan your journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner.

Replacement bus travel advice:

You can find the pick-up and set-down location of rail replacement services by checking station signage or by searching for your station on our Find a Station page.

Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and you should allow extra time for your journey.
