PARKING charges at Cowleaze Wood, near Christmas Common, came into effect last week.

The car park is no longer free to use, with the lowest cost to park set at £1.80 for up to two hours and the highest at £8 for up to 24 hours.

Forestry England, which owns the woodland, operates a cashless payment system with two card-only pay machines on site. It also offers a RingGo payment option.
