OVER the years, Langtree School has staged a number of productions including Pan, Bugsy and Nativity: The Musical.

These have involved more than 100 pupils with about two-thirds in the cast and the rest working backstage on lighting, sound, set designs and costumes.

Drama teacher Gillian Pimm said: “Anyone who wants to be in the school show is. The kids who want to have a big part, a solo part or a speaking part just need to audition. If they don’t want to because they’re too shy, they can still put their name down, just as long as they’re committed.” A year 7 student, who performed in Nativity said: “It was an amazing experience because it made me feel really included in the school and was great fun. I made loads of friends during the rehearsals and I'd love to be in shows in the future.

“Drama lessons are really fun because they help give you lots of confidence. You can really get into your character without anyone laughing at you.”

A year 9 student said: “I've enjoyed making friends not just in my year but in the years above and below through being in the shows. The sense of achievement when you do a show is amazing.”
