MAYBE my blood is thinning with age, but April seemed to be cooler than normal.

In fact it wasn’t. The mean minimum temperature was only a little below the average of 3C with a mean maximum of 13C.

There were eight frosts, three more than normal, and some hailstones and a few flakes of snow fell at the end of the month.

Rainfall was also around the average for the month with a total of 50mm in Shiplake.

As always, my thanks to Denis Gilbert for the stats.
