AS if I needed reminding that Christmas is coming, two emails have arrived in my inbox on the subject of turkeys.

One was from Sarah Copas, director of Copas Traditional Turkeys in Cookham, telling me that their game hung chicken has just won the inaugural producer award from Delicious magazine.

The other was from the Traditional Farmfresh Turkey Association informing me that the third week of November is “National Order Your Golden Turkey for Christmas Week”.

Don’t say I didn’t tell you. (With apologies to vegetarians and vegans.)
