EMMER GREEN got instant revenge for their 4-0 drubbing at the hands of READING YMCA the previous weekend by running out 5-2 winners against the same opponents at Linear Park in the Senior Division on Sunday.
The visitors took the lead after two minutes when John Donegan took advantage of a poor clearance to rifle home into the bottom left corner of the net. Daniel Donegan made it 2-0 soon after from the penalty spot after Brendon Agnew was brought down in the box.
Reading YMCA pulled one back after keeper Mark Compton let the ball slip through but Emmer Green were soon back in control when Brendon Agnew made it 3-1 after he latched on to a cross from Daniel Donegan to volley home and put Green in front at half-time.
Emmer Green were dealt a blow on 70 minutes losing Agnew to a hamstring injury to leave the visitors with 10 men for the rest of the game having no available substitutes.
Luke Donegan made it 4-1 after the ball broke and Josh Beisly passed into Daniel Donegan who flicked it round for Luke Donegan to control with his chest and finish.
Dave Mortimer headed into his own net to make it 4-2 but Daniel Donegan sealed the points after Matt Fox headed to Luke Donegan who whipped down the wing and placed his pass perfectly to brother Daniel who hit the bottom right corner.
HENLEY TOWN moved up to third place in Division 1 thanks to a 3-0 victory at 116 EXILES.
Despite the clinging mud and strong wind at Prospect Park, Henley had all the best of the opening half, in which Tiki Ebun-Cole and Francis Payne established a 2-0 lead. Tom Sadler added to the Town’s score in the second half, while the Town keeper had barely a shot to save.
Elsewhere in the division SC UNITED went down to a 4-0 defeat at home to league leaders MORTIMER.
HENLEY YMCA UNITED moved up to third place in Division 4 East after they came from 3-2 down to win 4-3 at WOODFORD PARK. Hugh Barklem and Aiden Rushton both netted two goals each.
