Clark’s hat-trick sees off hosts

WITH the pitch at Woodcote waterlogged, Woodcote’s first team match against Finchampstead in the Thames Valley Premier was postponed and the Development team’s away match against Steventon in the North Berks Division 1 was only able to go ahead with a change of venue from Steventon Green to Cutteslowe Park in Oxford.

The two bottom sides in the division fought out a goalless first half which caused Woodcote manager Pete McAlister to ring the changes at half time and this proved decisive as Archie Clark came on to score a second half hat-trick and another sub, Matt Webber, scored the other Woodcote goal.

Only some slack defending led to Steventon’s two goals, one of which was from the penalty spot.
