THE rate of mortality among Henley residents appears to be slowing.

A town council committee meeting heard that income from burial fees at Fair Mile cemetery has been falling. Two years ago, the council made £34,000 and last year this fell to £31,100 while in the first half of this year the total was £16,444.

Councillor Simon Smith quipped: “Are there not enough people dying?”
