AUSTRALIAN oil painter Melissa Laurence is to exhibit her works at the Caversham Picture Framer this month.
Her show, called Floral Reverie, runs from August 21 to September 28.
On Friday, August 30, people are welcome to visit the gallery for a special event from 5.30pm, for art, wine, cheese and music, while surrounded by Melissa’s still lifes in oil. The artist will give talk about her creative processes at 6.30pm.
Melissa and her family moved to Hermitage in West Berkshire in 2019. Her paintings reflect her love of flowers and of bold, vibrant colours, which she hopes will bring joy to others.
She is heavily inspired by the work of Van Gogh and the colours and rebellion of artists from the Fauvism movement.
The gallery is at 5a Church Road, Caversham.
