AN artist from the Clyde Valley in Lanarkshire is making an appearance at the Caversham Picture Framer later this month.
Ronnie Cruwys lives in the area known as the “fruit basket of Scotland”. Her works on show at the gallery include floral paintings, which capture the abundance of blossoms and trees from wild orchards.
The artist ventures outside to observe the transitory moments of nature, making sketches in pen, charcoal or ink. She returns to her studio to reinterpret what she has seen and enjoys making collages and colour palettes to build up layers of shapes and colours.
On Saturday, October 18, from 5.30pm, there will be a celebration evening at the gallery at 5a Church Road, Caversham. Ronnie will be giving an artist talk at 6.30pm. There will be wine, cheese and music and all are welcome.
