MORE than 3,000 visitors attended the Henley Art and Crafts Guild’s spring exhibition over its two-week run, writes Simon Pink.
Held in Henley, the exhibition, which ran from Friday, May 2 to Tuesday, May 13, showcased an impressive array of artwork, including striking paintings, ceramics, sculptures and intricately carved wooden vessels.
A highlight of the event was the lively private view evening, where guests enjoyed wine, conversation and the opportunity to purchase unique pieces directly from the artists.
This year’s exhibition was judged by Shelagh Casebourne, who faced the difficult task of selecting winners from a high standard of entries.
The award for best wall art went to Kasha Lunt for her piece Three Cormorants, while the best craft in show was awarded to Diana Cole for her ceramic sculpture, My Love. It was superb to see so many of our members exhibiting. I am very proud of what we achieve each year with both our spring and winter exhibitions.
Art is a wonderful way to bring people together, many of our members have formed lasting friendships through our exhibitions and year-round workshops.
Founded in Henley in 1953, the guild now has more than 200 members and remains committed to making art and craft accessible to all.
