Grape expectations at summer jazz afternoon

HENLEY guitarist Denny Ilett and virtuoso John Etheridge will be playing an afternoon of jazz at Oaken Grove Vineyard later this month.

For Jazz in the Vines – Guitar Summer Summit on Sunday, July 27, the musicians, with Henley’s Andy Crowdy on double bass and drummer Sebastian de Krom, will play a selection of guitar-inspired jazz, from mellow to fiery.

John has worked with Stéphane Grappelli and Soft Machine, as well as Nigel Kennedy and John Williams.

Denny has collaborated with Pee Wee Ellis and Lillian Boutté and created the Electric Lady Big Band, who play Jimi Hendrix classics.

Fine wines, pizzas and other nibbles are available from Oaken Grove. Gates open at noon and music starts at 2pm.

Tickets cost £23 adults, £15 children aged 12 to 17 (under-12s free). For more information, visit oakengrove vineyard.co.uk
