EARLEY HG have been crowned this season’s Henley and District Billiards League champions with one round of matches still to play.
The new champions defeated Twyford A 12-4 in the latest round of matches to secure the title.
Trinity Hall, who ran out 10-8 winners at Park Institute B, are currently in second spot with all to play for in the last round of matches. Elsewhere Harpsden lost 11-9 to Ivy Leaf A, Park Institute A won 11-7 at Twyford B while Ivy Leaf B beat Berks CS 10-7.
The penultimate league positions, with teams having played 17 games each, are as follows: 1 Earley HG, 172 points; 2 Trinity Hall, 158; 3 Ivy Leaf B, 156; 4 Ivy Leaf A and Twyford B, 153; 6 Harpsden, 148; 7 Park Institute B, 144; 8 Twyford A, 142; 9 Berks CS, 138; 10 Park Institute A, 125.
