THE heroes of last summer’s Olympics have received many accolades for their award-winning feats.

As well as their Games medals, there have been gold postboxes, dinners, civic receptions, award nominations and the New Year honours.

Now the gold medallists in the men’s coxless four have had stray kittens named after them.

Alex (Gregory), Pete (Reed), Tommy (James) and Drew (Triggs Hodge) were left at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

But they have all been found homes so perhaps their successful rowing namesakes brought them good luck. I do hope so.
