HENLEY’S Toad Patrol has received international acclaim — again.

Following the Standard’s story a couple of weeks ago about spawning ponds being created off Marlow Road, news of the group appeared in the International Herald Tribune, the global version of the New York Times.

In the late Eighties, a story about the country’s first toad tunnel being installed in a bid to save the creatures from being squashed by cars also went round the world.

Patrol volunteer Angelina Jones brought the latest news to my attention and says: “All hail amphibians.”
