FORMER Henley Mayor Elizabeth Hodgkin thought this was such a spectacular photograph that it deserved a wider audience, so she passed it on to me.

It shows Bled, Henley’s Slovenian twin town, at night and was sent to her by the Mayor there.

Liz was among the civic dignitaries, business, sports and other people who set up the twinning link.

Among the reasons was Bled is its country’s rowing capital, it has a picturesque waterside setting and it stages a music and arts festival each year... just like our town. In fact, the picture reminds me of the Henley Festival fireworks.
