IN spite of some very dry spells, 51mm of rain fell during May, which is the average for the month. 

Temperatures were also about normal with a mean of 7.7C at night (when there was just one frost) and 16.8C during the day. The highest temperature recorded was 21C. The thermometer should start rising this month...
