THE idea of Henley Town Council having a uniform appeals to at least some members.

Former mayor Stefan Gawrysiak said he would like to see official ties but Councillor Sam Evans suggested that this might be considered “sexist”.

Cllr Gawrysiak protested, saying that women can also wear ties.

Then Councillor Simon Smith suggested that perhaps there should be councillor knickers! In a twist, presumably.
