WRITING signs can be a thankless task as there is always someone who enjoys pointing out mistakes.
Unfortunately, I am one of those people.
I was walking around Henley town centre last week when I found two signs with glaring errors.
The first was on a billboard advertising the RNLI car boot sale held at Henley Rugby Club at the weekend.
It’s a very worthy cause but on closer inspection I found the words “generosity” and “calendar” spelled incorrectly.
Still, this wasn’t as bad as the sign attached to scaffolding above Starbucks letting people know that the coffee shop is still open, which lists the address as Market Street, Henley. Whoever put up the sign obviously failed to notice the street name on the building just above it. Had they done so, they would have realised that they were, in fact, in Market Place!
