GUESS who I bumped into at Twyford station last week? Norman Topsom.

The popular chargeman, who lives in Henley, retired in November after more than 50 years on the railway.

I asked him what he was doing back at his old haunt and he replied that he was “filling in” during the festive holiday.

Norman also revealed he will be coming back again to do some staff training.

He has obviously left some large shoes to fill.
