WITH Henley’s plethora of festivals and events, most people could be forgiven for not knowing every one by its proper title.

But the same cannot be said for Henley Town Council, which surely should be getting the names right.

A press release for the Visit Henley promotional event in the town centre at the weekend got two of the festivals’ names wrong.

The Thames Traditional Boat Festival, which will take place in July, was missing the name of.... the river!

Meanwhile, the Henley Literary Festival, which will take place in the autumn, had become “The Henley Literacy Festival”.

Not the same thing at all but, in the circumstances, perhaps not such a bad idea.
