JUNE was a wet month with only 11 rain-free days.

More than 64mm (2.5in) fell with some heavy downpours on three days in particular.

However, this was less than half the 120mm that fell in June 2012.

The average for June is 47mm, although that precise amount has only fallen once in the last 40 years.

Last month’s temperatures ranged from 6C to 26C, giving a mean of 15.6C, which is a degree above the average for June.

As ever, my thanks to Dennis Gilbert, from Shiplake, for the statistics.
