Chinese whispers

THE Twitter rumour mill was in full flow last week with whispers that Chinese restaurant Chef Peking in Henley Market Place was closing down.

However, the gossip is “absolutely not true”, according to owner Steve Wan.

He tells me: “If we closed, there would be no Chinese food in Henley. People would have to go to Heathrow, get a ticket and fly to Hong Kong.”

However, Steve admits he has been trying to sell the business for the past three years. Any takers?
