GORING UNITED eased to a comfortable 5-0 Division 1 win against ENGLEFIELD EAGLES at Sheepcot Field. The home side raced into a 4-0 half-time lead thanks to goals from Sullivan Akers, James Plumbridge and two from Patrick Dyer. Teddy Norris completed the scoring in the second half.
In Division 5, HENLEY EXILES eased to a 4-1 home win against DIDCOT CASUALS at Harpsden. The Exiles took the lead when Michael Whorrell floated in a corner and Owen Darani headed it in unchallenged.
Against the run of play Didcot grabbed an equaliser. Soon after good work from Darani forced the opposing defenders into a mistake and he bore down on goal to place his second in the bottom corner. Liam Webb’s long throw-ins were causing all sorts of trouble and when the ball broke in the box Henry McDonagh flicked it to Tyree Street who turned and fired home low and hard to put his side 3-1 up at half-time.
In the second half McDonagh completed the scoring when he was put in by Josh Gay. A lofted ball over the top caused confusion in the box and McDonagh reacted quickest to flick a header over the oncoming goalkeeper and into an empty net.
In the Berks and Bucks Sunday Cup, EMMER GREEN eased into the next round of the competition after thrashing hosts PAGGIES ELITE 8-1. Daniel Donegan, Jordan Lovelock and Anton Maze all scored two goals each while Joe Roff and Luke Maze also got their names on the scoresheet for the visitors.
